Kilkenny’s Independence Story – Heritage Week Event
The decade of commemoration recalls some of the most significant events in the history of modern Ireland and the modern world. Join in a walking tour through Kilkenny with a guide from the Kilkenny Military Heritage Project to hear about Kilkenny’s Independence Story. This is the third year of this walking tour which aims to give people an understanding of the events as they happened in County Kilkenny during the period 1913-1923. This year there will be a special emphasis placed on weapons procurement and the split which occurred in 1914.
